
The securities at Northern Caribbean University can approach students without violating their rights as a student and a citizen.
- Avoid Excessive Force: In this case security forces when making search as a requirement of the university must avoid exercise force towards students. If such action is taken place then students right and their right as a citizen will be breached. Students have a right!
- Explain to students what action is been taken place: If a search is been done or there is an interaction between students and security the students must be informed thoroughly and consent to such approach if their isn’t legal document present. Students have a right!
- Use weapons only when necessary: Security forces must not abuse student with weapons such as pepper spray or baton because it can cause serious harm to students especially in cases that are not very serious. Students have a right!
- Avoid discrimination: Security forces must avoid discriminations of students age, gender, race or colour. In this cause the must carry out approaches in an ethical manner. Students have a right to be free from discrimination as a citizen and as a student!
- Avoid sexual harassment: Security officers must not make sexual statement to students or approach them in an unprofessional manner. Students have a right!
